Dendritic agate is a type of chalcedony prized for its nature inspired look- branching, tree-like markings that resemble landscapes. It forms when mineral rich water carrying iron or manganese seeps into tiny fractures inside the stone. Over time, mineral deposits crystallize, creating each piece's distinctive pattern.

Because these markings are often best seen on a softly polished surface, dendritic agate is frequently lightly polished to reveal its depth and contrast. With a hardness of 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale, it's a durable stone suitable for everyday jewellery designs.
